Newton recently named quarterbacks he’d be willing to back in the 2023 season. He said he’d like to play for a team he thinks can win, and a team that can use him the right way. Newton said today that he still believes he can play and wants to keep playing, but he added that he would only do so in the right situation. It was impossible not to be a fan of Cam Newton, not only in 2015, his MVP year, but every time he handed a football to a kid in the stands or headlined another local charity event or did his Superman thing in the end zone. If he’s going to be back for the 2022 season, he wants a better situation. They never had a player more charismatic, nor one who more willingly put the city of Charlotte and his own team on his back.
